We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Automation Engineer to join our team in Oak Brook, IL. In this role, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems to improve our manufacturing efficiency and productivity. Individual with 0-5 years of experience to take ownership of a vital role within our organization.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and identify opportunities for automation within the manufacturing processes.

  • Design and develop automated solutions using hardware, software, and control systems (PLCs, robots).

  • Program and configure automation equipment to perform specific tasks.

  • Integrate automated systems with existing production lines and IT infrastructure.

  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of automated systems.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and ensure the smooth operation of automated equipment.

  • Document automation processes and procedures.

  • Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, and other stakeholders.

 

Qualifications:

  • 0-5 years of experience in automation engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical), Computer Science, or a relevant field (preferred).

  • Understanding of automation principles, robotics, and control systems.

  • Working knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, C++) and scripting (e.g., VBA) (a plus).

  • Familiarity with CAD software and electrical schematics (a plus).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
